SHIHO FUKADA

Shiho Fukada is an editorial and documentary photographer based in Beijing, China.

She is a native of Tokyo, Japan with a degree in English literature, who worked in the fashion and advertising industries in New York before becoming a photojournalist in 2004.

She moved to Beijing, China, February 2009 from New York and travels extensively in China. As a Alicia Patterson fellow of 2010, she is currently working on a project about disposable workers and working poor in Japan.

Her work has been featured internationally in numerous publications. Her recognition and awards include The Pulitzer Prize Nomination (2009) by the New York Times, Photo of the Year by Editor& Publisher Magazine, Best of Photojournalism, UNICEF Photo of the Year.
